Scalp Micropigmentation · Atlanta, GA

A hairline that holds up close

SMP Type is the Atlanta studio of Type Williams, a licensed body art professional. Scalp micropigmentation replicates the look of real follicles across the scalp, so a receding hairline reads as a sharp, freshly cut head of hair.

What we do

Four things, and that is the list

If what you want is not here, say so in the chat and you will get a straight answer about whether we can help.

01

Hairline restoration

A new front line, mapped to your face shape and your age, so it looks like hair that was always there rather than a drawn edge.

02

Density for thinning

Pigment worked between the hair you still have, so the scalp stops showing through under light. You keep your own hair.

03

The full shaved look

For men who already shave. Full coverage that gives the head the look of a closely cut crop from the hairline back.

04

Scar camouflage

Blending across donor strips, transplant marks and other pale areas so they stop catching the eye.

How it works

Three visits, a few weeks apart

Nothing to take daily and nothing to keep buying afterwards.

  1. ConsultationWe look at your scalp, talk about the line you want, and give you an honest answer about the result. Free, and no pressure to book anything.
  2. First sessionThe foundation. Pigment placed in the top layer of the skin across the agreed area, deliberately lighter than the finish.
  3. Second sessionDensity built up and the hairline refined, now that we can see how your skin held the first pass.
  4. Third sessionThe finishing pass. Tone and edges matched to your own hair so it reads correctly in daylight.

About

Type Williams

Type Williams is a licensed body art professional working from a private studio on Piedmont Road in Atlanta. Every consultation and every session is done by him personally rather than handed to an assistant, which is why the studio takes a small number of clients at a time.

Common questions

Before you ask

Will it look obvious?
Done properly, no. The work is thousands of individual marks sized and angled to match your own follicles, which is why it holds up at conversation distance rather than only in photographs.
Am I too far gone for this?
Almost nobody is. It works across the whole range, from a hairline that has just started moving back to a head that is bald on top with hair at the sides. Send a photo through the chat and you will get a straight answer.
How long does it last?
Years rather than months. Pigment softens gradually with sun and time, and most people come back for a refresh rather than a full repeat.
What does it cost?
It depends how much area is being covered and how many sessions that takes. You get an exact figure at the consultation, before you commit to anything.
How do I get started?
Message the studio using the chat in the corner of this page. You will get a text back to answer questions or set up your consultation.
